Browns sign Holmgren as president

Former NFL coach Mike Holmgren has decided to take on the challenge of trying to fix the many problems with the Cleveland Browns franchise. Yesterday, Holmgren signed a deal with the Browns to become the club’s president.

Current president Mike Keenan will now move to the position of chief financial officer once Holmgren’s deal is finalized. There is a possibility that this job could lead Holmgren back to coaching as well, but that remains to be seen.

One of the first things Holmgren may look at doing is to bringĀ  in a new general manager to help him draw up a new plan. However, one cannot also help but think that Holmgren will look to replace current head coach Eric Mangini as well, who in his first year as Browns coach has led them to a 3-11 record.

I am confident that Holmgren will help turn this franchise around. There are not many names that you could pick in football that have more knowledge and respect than this man. Mike Holmgren will get the job done in Cleveland.
