There is so much hype around this game. A lot of people believe that the Baltimore Ravens, who are 5-4, can beat the undefeated Indianapolis Colts. This is absolutely ridiculous. The Colts are on fire, and some of you actually believe that they have a chance against probably the best team in the NFL today?

That’s crazy-talk. You will all see tonight.

Ocho-Cinco

Bengals receiver Chad Ocho Cinco (Johnson), has been fined by the NFL for an amount of $20,000 dollars for attempting a fake bribe at the referee during last Sunday’s game against the Ravens.

During an official review of a catch by Ocho Cinco, he went up to one of the refs with a dollar bill as a joke, insinuating that he was attempting to bribe the official.

I feel at this point in his career, Ocho Cinco should perpetually be fined every other week. Being fined by the NFL has become more consistent than him catching the ball.

D.J. Hackett to Try Out for Ravens

Tuesday, July 21st, 2009

“According to Ravens director of player personnel Eric DeCosta, former Carolina Panther and Seattle Seahawk D.J. Hackett will be one of four receivers to try out on Friday.

“We can confirm that D.J. will be here,” DeCosta stated.

The Ravens did not release the names of the other contenders.

In the wake of Derrick Mason’s sudden retirement announcement, Baltimore has a need for depth at wideout.

Hackett, 6-foot-2, 208 pounds was scheduled to try out for the Ravens earlier this offseason, but canceled because of family issues and a visit with the Houston Texans.

Hackett, 28, caught 13 passes for 181 yards in nine games last year for the Panthers. He spent his first four NFL seasons with Seattle, but was placed on Injured Reserve as a rookie with a hip injury. The fifth-round draft pick out of the University of Colorado averaged 35 receptions, 464.7 yards and three touchdowns over the past three years.”

The Ravens will be contenders again this year, but need to address their wide receiver situation since Derek Mason has now retired. I like D.J. Hackett for this team because I think he would work well with Flacco. He would fit well behind Mark Clayton and Demetrius Williams on the depth chart. We’ll see what he can do for them in his work outs.
