I’m sure we all remember a time when Ricky Williams was the laughing stock of the NFL. It was a time where we all laughed and thought Ricky Williams was one of the craziest athletes to ever hit the scene.

However, after returning back to the NFL after a “soul searching period”, he has truly come back with a vengeance. Last night against the Panthers, Ricky Williams led the Dolphins to a 24-17 win. Williams ran for 119 yards and scored three touchdowns.

As a result of his huge game, Williams has now put himself into the Dolphins history books, becoming only the fifth player in franchise history to score multiple touchdowns in at least ten or more games.

Looks like Ricky Williams is having the last laugh on all his critics.

Rex Ryan mad over Last Night’s Game

Tuesday, October 13th, 2009

Rex Ryan was still seething the day after the Jets vaunted defense imploded down the stretch in their 31-27 loss to the Dolphins. Ryan said he’s “mad still” at the performance by a unit that looked scary good through the first four weeks of the season only to falter Monday night.

“We’re a lot better defensive team than how we played,” Ryan said Monday in a conference call. “That’s got to be proven. We’d given up three touchdowns the whole season on defense and gave up three in the fourth quarter after we got leads. That’s our time to go for the jugular. We just never responded.”

From Darrelle Revis getting uncharacteristically torched for a 53-yard touchdown to Bart Scott missing a tackle on Ronnie Brown’s game-winning two-yard TD run with seconds to go, the Jets were leaking from everywhere.

He should be mad. His team lost to the Dolphins. Although Parcells is fixing the team up, they are still a joke.

Patrick Turner is NFL Ready

Monday, July 20th, 2009

“At the collegiate level it is difficult to simulate the speed and caliber of NFL football, but Dolphins rookie wide receiver Patrick Turner had a bit of a head start.

He was part of a USC program under former New England Patriots head coach Pete Carroll that perhaps does the best job of helping to make that transition seamless, especially on offense.”

One of the best decisions an NFL General Manager can make is to draft a player from USC. The football program at USC is basically like playing for an NFL team. USC players have the easiest transitions into the NFL for this very reason, and also because of head coach Pete Caroll. Turner will be coming into an offense that can use help and give even more speed to one of the league’s fastest teams. Don’t be surprised to see Turner be used in the Wildcat formation every now and then this year.
