Head coach of the Kansas Football team Mark Mangino is currently being faced with allegations of verbal abuse and inappropriate physical contact against his players.

The Kansas athletic director is heading an investigation into Mangino yelling and putting his finger into the chest of linebacker Arist Wright. The reason for Mangino’s actions was allegedly due to Wright laughing during a practice. Since that time, other players have come forward with allegations of verbal abuse against their coach.

In defense, this is what Mangino had to say on Sports Radio 610 in Kansas City:

“There are some things that happen for 18 years of their lives that I can’t change in four years of college. Can’t do it. Can’t change their behaviors, can’t change their attitudes.”

I personally believe Mangino is way out of line with this remark. He is not a counselor or a wrestler, but is simply a football coach.

Back in September, Kansas University saw their football team and basketball team fight each other. The initial fights began on September 22nd and lingering feelings pursued the following day. How crazy does that sound?

However, there will be no charges filed against anyone due to insufficient evidence. I think this is a complete joke. There is sufficient evidence in the fact that there was a fight where players received injuries.

But of course, since they are NCAA athletic teams, they will get away with anything. What an embarrassment for this school and the entire state of Kansas.
