Kurt-Warner-Cardinals

With a win over the Rams yesterday, it is hard for Kurt Warner and the Cardinals to be down. However, in the 2nd quarter of Sunday’s game, Warner received a blow to the head after being slammed to the ground.

Warner mustered enough strength to finish the drive with a touchdown, but he came out of the game after. Cardinals head coach Ken Whisenhunt expressed concern for his quarterback, saying that he will undergo baseline tests for his cognitive functions.

I respect Kurt Warner and I am sad to say this, but when is it time to call it quits? Warner is still producing but he is becoming old in a violent game.  His health is the most important thing, therefore we will see how this testing comes to play in the future of Kurt Warner’s NFL career.

Rams and Lions Agree to Trade

Thursday, July 23rd, 2009

“The St. Louis Rams picked up much-needed wide receiver help when they acquired veteran Ronald Curry from the Detroit Lions in exchange for defensive end Orien Harris.

Curry was a free-agent acquisition of the Lions during the offseason when he signed a one-year, $670,000 deal, but he became expendable when the Lions traded for Dennis Northcutt. Northcutt is expected to be the Lions’ slot receiver, the role that Curry was trying to win.

The 30-year-old Curry played seven seasons for the Oakland Raiders and started 23 games over the past two years. A former quarterback at North Carolina, Curry’s best seasons were in 2007 when he caught 55 passes for 717 yards and 2006 when he caught 62 passes for 727 yards.”

Curry is a pretty solid receiver and this is a good move for St. Louis because they were in need of a receiver. It also works for Detroit because Northcutt will be taking Curry’s place, a move that I would take any day. Both teams have had disappointing years and need a good amount of work.
