Black pants, black helmets and another team-wide celebration. No matter what the Bulldogs do to change their luck in Jacksonville, the result usually stays the same. Tim Tebow accounted for four touchdowns and broke Herschel Walker’s SEC record for rushing touchdowns (50), A.J. Jones had two interceptions and the Gators (8-0) won for the 17th time in the last 20 meetings between the SEC rivals.

Tebow Breaks SEC Record

Sunday, November 1st, 2009

“JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Florida receiver David Nelson stared across the field, saw all the Georgia players jumping up and down, hooting and hollering after a touchdown and thought, “Here we go again.”

“Seeing them do that kind of brought back the memory, just hit us hard,” Nelson said.

Florida QB Tim Tebow passed Georgia’s Herschel Walker for first place on the SEC’s all-time rushing list with his 50th rushing TD in the second quarter against Georgia and added his 51st in the third quarter. Tebow also set the SEC career record for rushing yards by a QB.

The top-ranked Gators responded pretty much the same way they did last season — by pounding the Bulldogs.

Tim Tebow accounted for four touchdowns, A.J. Jones had two huge interceptions and Florida beat the Bulldogs 41-17 Saturday for its 17th win in the last 20 meetings between the Southeastern Conference rivals.”

This is a great day for Florida Gators football. First of all, they had a great and convincing win against one of their biggest rivals in Georgia. Secondly, in the process of winning, Tim Tebow broke the SEC record to go on the all-time rushing list.

Tebow Will Play if Approved Medically

Saturday, October 10th, 2009

BATON ROUGE, La. — Quarterback Tim Tebow will play Saturday if he passes medical testing before Florida’s game against LSU.

“If he’s ready to play, cleared to play, we’re going to play him,” Florida coach Urban Meyer said Saturday morning in an interview with ESPN’s Tom Rinaldi.

The decision will be made well before the kickoff for the 8 p.m. ET game but probably won’t be known until the team gets to the stadium, a Gators source told ESPN.com’s Pat Forde.

Tebow has been recovering for two weeks since suffering a concussion Sept. 26 in a victory at Kentucky.

He’s not going to take any chances, whether or not he is approved medically. That’s how careers end and one college game isn’t going to make a difference to him.
