CHARLOTTESVILLE — Virginia fell back to earth Saturday afternoon, watching its three-game winning streak wash away in a 34-9 loss to No. 11 Georgia Tech.
Heavy rain showers were occasionally interrupted with moments of sunshine, but there were few signs of light for Virginia. Georgia Tech rushed for 362 yards and Virginia (3-4, 2-1 ACC) ran for only 30. In a win over Maryland in similar conditions last weekend, Virginia relied on power running game. On Saturday, the Cavaliers passed often — and without much success.
